Mason Rudolph is Saying All the Right Things, but He Knows Something Special is Brewing

first_imgYou’re not helping things here, Mason.I’m out here trying to keep this whole thing under wraps and temper the expectations of everyone salivating at the thought of a November run into the College Football Playoff like Peyton trying to calm down an entire stadium. Then you go and give an interview like you did on Thursday. It’s not your fault, of course. You’re just being QB1 and saying things QB1s should be saying. Things like this.“By no means did I play my best three games (as a starter late in the 2014 season),” Rudolph told Bill Haisten of the Tulsa World. The best is yet to come. We can’t wait to get out there and see what this 2015 team is all about.”Join the club, No. 2.“Anytime we got a great defense with the guys that we do on that side of the ball, it’s awesome to get that work in every day,” said Rudolph. “I feel like everyone’s done a great job. I feel like the offense has really bonded together. We’re really trying to fire on all cylinders right now.”“We’ve been talking about winning a Big 12 championship,” Rudolph told the O’Colly. “That’s the goal every year here, and once we get there, who knows what’s next?”His teammates seem to have a ton of confidence in him, too.“He’s really going into his fourth game starting, but you see him and you think he’s started 15-16 games in a row, so he brings a lot of maturity to the table.”His coach agrees.“Mason’s going to go through a learning curve for 5-6 games,” said Mike Gundy. “But he’s very easy for us to coach. He’s a student of the game, he’s very respectful, very low-key. He’s more like Chelf in that he’s cerebral at it.”I’m ready. You ready?U MadIf you’re looking for the comments section, it has moved to our forum, The Chamber.
