Mobiistar, a Vietnamese smartphone company, is planning to push its India operations significantly in the coming months. The India Today Tech learns that it will launch four or five smartphones with focus on the selfie aka front camera in the price range between Rs 5,000 and Rs 12,000 in India this year. Mobiistar hopes that its focus on the selfie camera, aggressive price and an offline retail network that the company is aggressively building will help it become one of the top 5 phones sellers in under Rs 10,000 market.In the list of upcoming devices, the most feature-rich will be the Mobiistar X1 Dual. That is expected to come with 13MP + 8MP dual-selfie cameras. In addition all four or five phones will come with features like Face Unlock, Android Oreo 8.1 and screen that has the 18:9 aspect ratio. The phones will also come with fingerprint sensors.Mobiistar entered the Indian market in May with the XQ Dual and the CQ, priced at Rs 7,999 and Rs 4,999, respectively. The XQ Dual sports a 5.5-inch FullHD screen, which is topped with a 2.5D curved glass. The features a pair of 13MP + 8MP dual selfie camera and a 13MP rear camera.The CQ smartphone, which was launched alongside the XQ comes with a comparatively smaller screen size of a 5-inch with HD resolution. This phone has a 13MP selfie camera and an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. Both the phones come with VoLTE and ViLTE connectivity support. Mobiistar has used Qualcomm Snapdragon processors to power the two phones. The company has partnered with e-commerce company Flipkart for the online sales of the devices.advertisementApart from preparing new phones, Mobiistar is also building its offline retail channel in India. The company says that it has 1000 service outlets in India.To bolster its operation pan India, Mobiistar will partner with 600 distributors across the country for its seamless entry to the offline market.While the company seems to have right ideas about the Indian budget phone market, a lot will depend on how it executes its plans. The Indian phone market is one of the toughest in the world, particularly in the budget segment, where companies like Xiaomi, Motorola, Honor and Nokia have a sizable presence. These are also the companies that are not only well recognised by consumers but also offer the phones that come with top hardware and features for the price.
