first_imgParesh Rawal, who was last seen in Uri: The Surgical Strike, will next be seen in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s sports drama Toofan. The film stars Farhan Akhtar in the lead role of a boxer, while Rawal has been cast to play Farhan’s coach.While Farhan has been preparing for his role for many months now (his Instagram posts are proof of that), reports say that Paresh has also joined Farhan on his training session a month ago. A source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror, “The formalities were locked in April and Paresh has been training with Farhan in Mumbai for over a month now.”Talking about the film and the actors, producer of the film, Ritesh Sidhwani said, “Every director has a bucket list of actors and Paresh bhai was on the top of mine. I am absolutely thrilled to have him entering the Toofan family. Both Paresh and Farhan are great actors and both their characters are author-backed and well sketched out. There is a huge offering in store for the audience.”Farhan has been practising hard to prepare for his role in Toofan. He often shares videos from his training sessions. In May this year, the actor was seen training with world kickboxing champion Drew Neal. He took to Instagram to share the video and wrote, “It’s not just about strength but speed as well #ToofanInTheMaking @drewnealpt @samir_jaura @rakeyshommehra @ritesh_sid.”advertisementOn the other hand, Paresh Rawal in his last film Uti: The Surgical Strike, played the role of Govind Bhardwaj, a character based on India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Talking about Doval, in an interview with a news channel, Paresh Rawal said, “I had met NSA saab two-three times at corridors in Parliament before doing the film. Who doesn’t know him. Every Indian knows him. He is the true hero of ours.”With Toofan, Farhan Akhtar is teaming up with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra six years after their superhit film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
