Elderly man dies in house fire in rural Clare

first_img 2 Comments http://jrnl.ie/3325826 Image: Shutterstock/Konstantin Shevtsov By Rónán Duffy Wednesday 5 Apr 2017, 6:41 PM Short URL Tweet thisShare on FacebookEmail this article Share Tweet Email Apr 5th 2017, 6:41 PM 10,187 Views A MAN IN his 80s has died following a house fire in rural Clare.Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the fire at the house at Tonavoher, Knockerra near Kilrush at about 10pm yesterday.Inspector Paul Slattery of Kilrush Garda Station told Clare FM that that the fire was extensive when they arrived at the scene.“On arrival with the emergency services we found that the house was well and truly on fire,” Garda Slattery said.“The fire service gained entry to the house and extinguished the fire and it was then we discovered the body of an individual.
