More than two dozen Brock faculty, staff, students and their family members took part in the St. Catharines Terry Fox Run Sunday. The group, many clad in Brock colours and foam Badger claws, completed the 5 km run held in Port Dalhousie along with hundreds of others who took part in the annual fundraising event for the Terry Fox Foundation.“This was the first year we had an official team at the run, so to have as many people as we did was fantastic,” said Dan Dakin, who captained the Brock Team. “Now that the Terry Fox Run is part of the Homecoming schedule, we’ll keep growing our presence there every year.”The team raised $1,000 for the Foundation through online and day-of donations.Among those running Sunday was post-doctoral fellow Mukund Ghavre, who addressed the crowd before the start to talk about the research currently taking place at Brock that is funded through the Terry Fox Foundation.Ghavre is part of a Brock team working with Vancouver-based Zymeworks to create a more effective way to deliver chemotherapy to cancer patients. If you missed the run, you can still donate to the Terry Fox Run through the Brock team here and if you’re interested in joining the Brock team at the 2017 Terry Fox Run, contact Dan Dakin at
